Jane, 76, and Harold, 77, have multiple chronic illnesses and live in their own home. They do their best to take care of each other. Home health aides are just too expensive. They live on their savings and Social Security. They checked out long term care insurance several years ago but neither one was insurable. They are desperately trying not to go to a nursing home. They know their $45,000 in savings and the value of their home wouldn't go very far in paying bills. The greatest thing in the world would be if they could diet the day their money runs out.
